About the position:

You will be part of the BI team, which is organized together with Financial Partnering & Planning (FPP) and anchored with the CFO. While FPP is situated in Denmark, you will be a part of the BI team based in Ukraine.

BI supports departments across the entire 3Shape value chain, from R&D to sales and customer support. This is done using many different data sources, both classic sources such as ERP/CRM systems as well as large amounts of data from all our products. We see an increasing demand for reports on these numbers and wish to strengthen the team further.

The team is a mix of business analysts and developers working closely together in solving the most urgent business needs, working in project groups together with the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy:

• Develop and implement the organization's BI strategy.
• Lead and mentor a team of BI analysts, data engineers, and other professionals.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritize BI needs.

Project Management:

• Plan, manage, and oversee BI projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope, including driving BI prioritization forum.
• Define project goals, establish timelines, and assign tasks to team members.
• Monitor project progress, mitigate risks, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure proper documentation and post-project evaluations to improve future initiatives.

Data Management:

• Oversee the collection, storage, and organization of data from various sources.
• Ensure data integrity, quality, and security through proper governance and standards.
• Manage data warehouses, dashboards, and reporting tools.

Analytics & Reporting:

• Design and maintain BI tools, dashboards, and metrics to track KPIs.
• Analyze complex data sets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Present findings to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and impactful manner.

Process Improvement:

• Identify inefficiencies in current data processes and recommend enhancements.
• Identify inefficiencies in current way of working and recommend enhancements.
• Implement automation for reporting and data visualization tasks.
• Stay updated on the latest BI tools and industry trends.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work with various departments, such as sales, marketing, operations, IT and finance, to address their BI needs.
• Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Drive clarification of roles & responsibilities within the BI realm.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Technical Skills:
   • Proficiency in Power BI but preferably also other BI tools like Tableau, QlikView, or Looker.
   • Strong SQL skills for querying and data manipulation.
   • Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.
   • Experience with programming languages like Python or R is a plus.
2. Analytical & Business Acumen:
   • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
   • Understanding of business operations and the ability to align BI initiatives with organizational goals.
3. Leadership & Communication:
   • Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
   • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting data-driven insights.
   • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
4. Educational Background:
   • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
   • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Desktop Specialist) are advantageous.
5. Experience:
   • 5–7+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field.
   • Prior experience in a managerial or leadership role is typically required.
