We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the development of next-generation medical devices and 3D scanning solutions.
The Role
As Senior Project Manager, you will lead complex product development projects spanning e.g., optics, mechanics, electronics, embedded software, cloud solutions, manufacturing, quality, and medical compliance. You will work closely with engineers, scientists, people managers, subject matter experts, quality and regulatory specialists, operations teams, and external partners.
Working with multidisciplinary teams across several development sites, you will help transform strategically important ideas into successful products. You will create alignment across stakeholders, navigate project dependencies, and support teams in achieving key milestones. As a key project leader within R&D, you will influence development priorities, execution approaches, and project strategy across our scanner portfolio.
At 3Shape, we have a flat organizational structure that provides direct access to senior and executive leadership, enabling efficient decision-making and strong collaboration across the organization – e.g., in our steering committees.
Your Responsibilities
Lead product development projects from early concept through production ramp-up
Facilitate and lead collaboration across large international cross-functional teams
Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, and stakeholder alignment
Identify, assess, and manage project risks, dependencies, and mitigation activities
Drive project execution and follow-up to ensure successful delivery
Support requirements management, traceability, and risk management activities in accordance with applicable standards and regulations
Lead design reviews in collaboration with technical experts
Coordinate and manage external development partners and vendors
Qualifications You Will Likely Bring
A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a related field
Experience leading new product development projects in complex technical environments - ideally at least 6-8 years of seniority in a similar position
Experience working within R&D and/or manufacturing organizations
Experience from regulated industries such as medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences, or similar fields is an advantage
Experience in working with international medical device standards like FDA 21 CFR 820 & EU MDR and ISO 13485 is a clear advantage
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
The ability to balance technical, commercial, and organizational considerations
A project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent is an advantage
Most importantly, you enjoy bringing people together around a common goal, creating clarity in complex situations, and enabling teams to succeed, while being comfortable on setting a clear direction and making the needed decisions.
