Our delivery stream develops software products for dental clinics and laboratories. The products cover a wide range of needs from enabling dental restorations and implant planning over manufacturing of these to laboratory management. The products are technology-wise very diverse products, ranging from seasoned and widely used on-prem systems coded mostly in Delphi over on-prem systems built in .NET 6.0 to new cloud products coded in Node.js and C#.
About the role
We need you to come and help us understand and actionize how to consolidate these technologies, reduce the technical debt across the products and flesh out the architectural runway for large strategic initiatives. We see this as a leadership role and a technical role where you will take the lead in gathering the local architects around you in an architecture guild and be the number one person for our product managers to consult in feasibility studies and the primary voice of our delivery stream in company-level architecture strategy. Moreover, you will coach and help the local architects establish and drive an architectural roadmap including the reduction of technical debt. Finally and most importantly, you are an inspiring and servant leader who understand the value of having two ears, but only one mouth!
The local architects that will be part of the guild you will establish and run, are based in various locations, including Copenhagen, Denmark and Kyiv, Ukraine. Our people are technically very skilled, and we have an including and respectful collaboration culture that we would like to preserve while not losing sight of important decisions to be made.
Tasks that you will be facing in this role
- Define and concretize architectural runways for strategic features, enablers and integrations across products as part of strategy implementation,
- Define, maintain and drive a technical roadmap across the stream; reaping opportunities and reducing risks/technical debt,
- Collaborate with program and product managers to clarify, qualify and quantify non-functional requirements on product level,
- Establish and chair an architecture guild inside the stream,
- Be a servant and observant leader for your fellow architects in the teams,
- Encourage and engage in fast prototyping,
- Engage in R&D-wide architectural guild,
- Advocate and driving software development best practices, e.g. releasing as a non-event, SOLID, DoD, BDD/TDD and design for testability,
- Constantly keep up to date with latest technology trends within software development and operation.
Cloud technology-wise we use MS Azure. On-prem software runs under Windows 10/11. Main code language is C#/.NET 6.0. We use Visual Studio Professional as IDE. Repositories are in GitHub. Build and integration pipeline based on TeamCity, Jenkins, Github Actions and Azure Artifacts. Software modules are shared as NuGet packages.
Skills & requirements
- Minimum 3 years working as a software architect in a corporate setting using agile approach to SW development.
- Minimum 5 years working as a software developer, preferably in .NET stack.
- A genuine interest in leading others through listening and collaboration.
- Minimum a bachelor’s degree in computer science, or similar.
- Proven dedication to continuous development and learning.
- Well-versed in whole SDLC, incl. testing and operations.
- Confident working in multi-site settings with many stakeholders.
- A good listener and an empathic person with leadership flair.
- Flair for communicating with stakeholders of diverse backgrounds.
- Systematic, result-oriented, and analytical way of working.
- Experience from MedTech industry is considered an advantage.
