In this position as Scanner Developer in Optics/Physics you will work at the heart of 3Shape’s technology and have a unique opportunity to impact 3Shape’s future products.

Your Role

As a scanner developer you will participate in product development of 3D scanners and will typically work on one or two projects.

Your role in the team is centered around overseeing the imaging system, ensuring that the optical signal can be detected and that the scanners can be produced efficiently. Your work will be critical to the success of the project, as you will be responsible for ensuring that the scanners meet our high standards of quality and reliability, enabling our customers to use them with confidence and accuracy.

The project teams span across multiple hardware and software disciplines as well as experts on usability, regulatory affairs, and new product introduction in Production and you will thus be working very closely with other disciplines and interact with colleagues from Denmark, Poland and Ukraine.

The daily tasks will range from:

• Designing advanced optical imaging systems

• Testing project ideas with optical prototypes

• Developing new calibration routine with SW and electronics engineers

• Performing tolerance analysis with mechanical engineers

• Identification and qualification of state-of-the art optical components with Procurement

• Analyzing Production problems related to optical performance

The job will take you traveling around 10 days per year.

Your profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, team player who thrives with finishing things, and further has most of the following qualifications:

• A M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in physics, optical engineering or similar.

• Experience with HW product development and production.

• Analytical and with good problem-solving skills.

• Ability to build free-space optical setups and using ray tracing tool

• Experience with programming, e.g., Python or C#.

• Has some knowledge of electronics, mechanics or software design
