3Shape is constantly higher pace launching new groundbreaking medical devices and services in dentistry. We are therefore seeking an experienced engineer or scientist with deep knowledge and experience within materials. You will work with advanced manufacturing technologies and use your expert knowledge and experience to help us make the right material choice for our medical products.

You will join a dedicated team of development engineers that helps patients, dentists and dental laboratories with game-changing and state of the art digital treatments.

As Materials Compliance Specialist you will interact directly with development engineers, project and program managers, regulatory and quality staff as well as external stakeholders for disposition of materials, resolution of release issues and other material related work as needed.

You will be Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the material field. This includes:

  • Helping project teams to on-board new materials
  • Working with requirements, safety, quality and efficacy of our systems
  • Providing inputs and guidelines for manufacturing
  • Monitoring and communicating regulatory standards and guidance (e.g. 21 CFR 820, MDD, ISO13485, ISO10993)
  • Testing and resolving complex issues within the material field
  • Analyzing issues for escalation to area management
  • Train and guide other staff members
  • Create, update and revise SOPs and other guidelines
  • Create and control the material section of our declarations of conformity (DoCs)
  • Maintain our internal data base and ensure controlled data exchange

Your Profile

  • M.Sc. or higher university degree in Chemical engineering, Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a comparable education
  • Relevant professional experience within material science, preferably from the medical device industry.
  • Very good analytical skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Potential for working in or with committees of future regulations of materials
  • Experience in technical product development
  • Fluent in English (oral and written).
