Primary Responsibility:

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide operational leadership around key marketing initiatives focused on the growing North American (US and Canada) market.   Primary accountabilities include creating differentiation through market relevant value propositions and strong product launches, developing and implementing local market intelligence into current and future marketing campaigns, leading local digital marketing efforts, supporting in-field marketing and sales events and NA promotion management, aligning local events and tradeshows, leading partner-specific marketing efforts. The role requires consistent interaction and coordination with NA commercial leadership, Global Marketing, US Key Account Directors, Regional Business Directors and Reseller/Partner colleagues.  This is an individual contributor role with strong project management skills required.

Reports to:  Marketing Director (unnamed)

Essential Job Duties:

  • Drive the commercialization of 3Shape product launches in the NA market
    • Understand and articulate the unique opportunities and challenges of new 3Shape products in the NA market.
    • Develop comprehensive, multi-functional strategy and tactical plan that includes a detailed analysis and recommendations around Partner/Reseller acceptance and key stakeholders.
    • Identify key risks, opportunities, challenges, resources, timing related to communications (internal and external), training, post-sales support, integration into key current and future campaigns.
    • Understand and provide feedback around product features, capabilities, positioning in the current product and solution portfolio to stakeholders.
    • Working across organizational functions, ensure effective, focused tools and communications are developed for Customer Support, Academy, Equipment Services, Territory Management, Key Accounts to ensure organizational knowledge, support and resource alignment.
    • Ensure constant engagement with all stakeholders by providing and receiving current, relevant and important feedback/information.
    • Develop tools to measure ROI related to campaigns.  Share findings with leadership. Adjust plans accordingly based on findings.
  • Align Digital Marketing Strategy for NA with Global initiatives
    • Understand company, geographic (including regional) cultural trends around effective digital marketing strategies.
    • Articulate strategy to leadership that showcases deep knowledge and coordination with Global efforts.
    • Lead initiatives that support company priorities.
    • Provide feedback and analysis regarding efforts to senior leaders.
  • Develop and utilize local NA market intelligence
    • Investigate data sources not currently utilized by Global to develop a more robust, comprehensive understanding of the NA market (US and Canada).
    • Share findings with all 3Shape stakeholders.  Ensure findings are incorporated in global observations and analysis.
    • Develop a process to ensure continuous updates are available to all stakeholders; in addition are included in reports, surveys and analysis.
  • Lead Promotion Management
    • While working collaboratively with the US Key Account Directors, US Sales Operations and Global Marketing ensure promotion initiatives are effectively implemented across the target markets and support NA Promotion Strategy
    • Ensure internal resources are able to easily incorporate promotional initiatives with an eye toward simplification and efficiency
    • Design and implement measures to effectively measure the impact of promotions related to sales
    • Operate as the primary liason with Global Marketing regarding Promotional Plans, activities, results and impact.
  • Reseller/Partner Marketing Initiatives
    • Lead conversations with partner colleagues around developing and implementing effective and timely messaging or campaigns.
    • Ensure alignment with Global Marketing colleagues

 Other Duties:

Work Location/Hours:  The ideal candidate would be located in New Jersey allowing for frequent travel to the New Providence, NJ office.  Remote location can be considered for the right individual.   The normal working hours would be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.   The individual may be expected in the office for key activities such as leadership and extended team meetings.  The individual will be required to participate in certain evening reseller/partner sales events, trade shows, exhibits and conventions.

Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle documents, objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will be required to travel by air, both domestically and internationally, and will physically need to be able to navigate these activities.

Travel:  This position could require up to 40% domestic and international travel, primarily to Denmark.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business or marketing function
  • 4-7 years of progressively challenging product marketing roles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong listening skills with a focused empathetic and consultative ear
  • Experience using excel and CRM.
  • Demonstration of strong project management skills at multiple levels of an organization
  • Experience working in a team environment with multiple stakeholders and decision-makers at all levels in the organization. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills a plus
  • Experience with a consultative, relationship-oriented organization
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team setting.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • An MBA, preferably in Marketing
  • 6-10 years in multi-functional marketing roles (promotion, competitive intelligence, digital marketing, etc.)
  • Good understanding of dental clinic operation and dental industry
  • Experience in a sales function, preferably with resellers/partners
  • Experience with selling or promoting Shape products
  • Experience in or with global organizations
